Jean-François Houle’s men had a strong start to the game by eclipsing Senators goaltender Antoine Bibeau on three occasions.

Mattias Norlinder, Madison Bowey and Joël Teasdale hit the target for Laval.

The Laval team had a two-goal lead halfway through the game, before the Senators tied the game thanks to Jake Lucchini, who gave himself a two-goal, four-point game. The forward from Trail, British Columbia, was a hero in overtime.

Brandon Gignac also put his name on the scoresheet by scoring his eighth of this campaign in the second period. Number 37 has recovered defender Tory Dello’s throw return.

The Rocket’s power play struggled all sorts as it was unable to capitalize on six chances.

This meeting marked the entry into the scene of goalkeeper Philippe Desrosiers in the Club-school of the Canadian. The former Rimouski Océanic gave up on five occasions out of the 29 shots he received.

The two teams meet Monday in Belleville.
