On Wednesday 18 May, the European Commission expressed its wish to see solar energy play a very important role in the future. This goes through solar panels on buildings, but not only.

Imagine solar panels everywhere. This is the wish of the European Commission for the future of energy in Europe. The objective is, initially, to produce twice as much solar energy in three years. To achieve such results, theagrivoltaism could be a good solution. To Perpignan, a farmer decided to install solar panels on an area of five hectares. For him, two objectives: to protect his crops while allowing him to irrigate less since his plots are protected.

However, this solution is divisive, because the fear of seeing energy production take over from agriculture is great. The concern is also reflected in the additional equipment used with these photovoltaic panels which are often accompanied by a high voltage line and a source substation.
