Two other agreements to renew collective agreements were reached between hoteliers and unions in Sherbrooke and Montreal.
There are now three agreements that have been reached, with the first, at the Hilton in Laval, last week.
Since that of Laval, there has been an agreement in principle at the Double Tree Hotel in Montreal, but the members will not vote on this subject until Thursday. And the agreement in principle which was reached at the Delta Hotel in Sherbrooke was ratified by 92%.
These negotiations are taking place within the framework of the coordinated negotiations led by the Fédération du commerce, affiliated with the CSN.
Through this type of negotiation, the unions of the hotels concerned consult each other and present common demands, even if they have different employers. The federation thus seeks to obtain an initial regulation, which it then attempts to export to other hoteliers.
The union demands relate to salary increases and group insurance, in particular. Hoteliers say, for their part, that they already offer good working conditions.
Furthermore, an indefinite general strike was called at the Marriott Château Champlain hotel in Montreal, where union members had been locked out until 1er October, the CSN said on Tuesday.
A general and indefinite strike also affects the Pur hotels in Quebec and Bonaventure in Montreal.
