(Gaza) Egypt has secured an agreement for a ceasefire between Israel and armed groups in the Gaza Strip starting as early as 3 p.m. (Eastern time) on Saturday, AFP has learned from close sources discussions.
The agreement of the parties concerned was confirmed by an Egyptian security official and a Palestinian source close to the discussions. Asked by AFP, an Israeli government official declined to comment. The clashes have claimed 35 lives since Tuesday.
