(Montreal) The workers of the IKEA store in Montreal ratified in a proportion of 80% the agreement in principle which had been reached regarding the renewal of their collective agreement.

The 500 union members had held a two-day strike in May, drawn from a bank of 10 days.
According to the union, attached to the Fédération du commerce, affiliated to the CSN, the entry-level wage, which is currently $15.60 an hour, will increase to $18.50 in 2024.
The union believes it has also made gains in terms of the pension plan, guaranteed hours for part-time employees, as well as occupational health and safety clauses.
