(Montreal) An agreement in principle to renew the collective agreement has been reached between Revenu Québec and the union which represents 5,800 professionals there.
These workers, members of the Syndicate of Professionals of the Government of Quebec (SPGQ), have been on evening and weekend strikes since last September. This limited strike mainly affects information technology employees. It is maintained for the moment, the SPGQ said on Thursday.
The agreement in principle will be submitted to an intermediate body next week, said the president of the SPGQ, Guillaume Bouvrette.
It is this body that will decide whether the agreement deserves to be submitted to the members. If necessary, they could decide by the end of February.
The tentative agreement covers wages and working conditions. Mr. Bouvrette did not want to reveal the content, preferring to keep the scoop for his members, as is usually the case in such circumstances.
These professionals from the Agence du Revenu du Québec hold positions in tax auditing, as computer analysts or process analysts, for example.
