Agnès Vahramian new director of radio franceinfo

She succeeds Jean-Philippe Baille, who has been heading franceinfo since January 2021. Céline Pigalle has also been appointed deputy editorial director in charge of news and proximity at Radio France.

Agnes Vahramian has been appointed director of franceinfo, announced Radio France CEO Sibyle Veil on Tuesday, August 27. She will take up her duties on September 16. Until recently, she was France Télévisions’ Middle East correspondent and war correspondent in Ukraine after having been a correspondent in the United States. She had previously been deputy editorial director of France 2, editor-in-chief of “Envoyé Spécial” and then of the 8 p.m. news on France 2.

Agnes Vahramian succeeds Jean-Philippe Baille, who has been heading franceinfo since January 2021 and whose departure was announced on July 22. He joins the Altice Media group to replace Hervé Béroud, until then Deputy Managing Director of Information at RMC-BFM. Formerly the editorial director of RTL from 2014 to 2018, he joined franceinfo in January 2019 as editorial director.

Radio France also announced the appointment of Céline Pigalle as deputy editorial director in charge of news and proximity at Radio France. Céline Pigalle, who will continue in her role as director of France Bleu, succeeds Jean-Philippe Baille, who has been serving as both radio director and news director for the group since September 2023. Céline Pigalle, former editorial director of BFMTV after having been that of iTélé (now CNews), joined Radio France in April 2023 as head of France Bleu, the local public radio network. She will report to the new editorial director of Radio France, Vincent Meslet, who succeeds the group’s former director of broadcasts and editorial strategy, Laurence Bloch.

Sibyle Veil also announced the arrival of Charlotte Ballero as Director of Human Resources at Radio France. She held the same position at the French Red Cross and she succeeds Michel Casciani at Radio France, who died on February 17, 2024.
