Agent Jean: the crazy adventure continues on TV

Incredible, but true: Alex A. approached his project Agent Jean like a “practice shot” in the world of comics. Ten years after the release of the first volume featuring him, the blundering stag who finds a way to excel in his missions is experiencing a success that few Quebec characters can hope for.

Whoever, according to its creator, “acts like a Tibetan sage and an eight-year-old child” takes a break from comics, but not from TV. Carried by the voice of Pier-Luc Funk, the colorful animal will be the hero of seven new episodes on the Tou.tv Extra from December 7.

Firmly anchored

With him and his band of merry men, there will be more emotions and less absurdity, details Alex A., who has always wanted to respect his world on the small screen.

In addition to the exploded universe offered by the series Agent Jean, we find a five-star vocal cast. In addition to Pier-Luc Funk, we can among others appreciate the intonations of France Castel, Bernard Fortin, Anne Dorval and Adib Alkhalidey.

“What I didn’t want were high pitch vocals, tiring for parents,” says Alex. TO. […] I didn’t want Agent Jean to speak in a super high pitched, angry voice. I wanted the actors to play them almost seriously, normally, like normal humans. “

Another universe

During this TV adventure, the funny hero allows himself a new journey.

“From the start, we did not follow the continuity of the books at all,” explains its creator. It’s like it’s a parallel universe. In a superhero comic book, it is very common. It’s another timeline of Agent Jean. There are no restrictions on what I have already written. It would be tiring to always have continuity curves and it would take away my freedom in my books […] Last year, I killed a character in my books, but he continues in the TV series … “

With the peaks of popularity reached with his comics, it should come as no surprise if Quebec’s most original stag continues to string together happy endings in animated capsules.
