“Against winds and tides” tour: Paul Daraîche pays tribute to Renée Martel

Paul Daraîche has lost his great friend Renée Martel, but he wishes to pay tribute to her by continuing their joint tour project “Contre vents et tides”, taken from their opus of the same name.

Both born on June 26, 1947, Paul Daraîche and Renée Martel were to hit the road together for the first time after offering this album to their audience last October. Following the death of the Queen of Country on December 18, Paul Daraîche and his team wanted to keep the tour project alive.

Although Renée Martel is irreplaceable, Laurence Jalbert, who recently dazzled the public of Star Academy, Annie Blanchard and Émilie Daraîche, who provided the first part of all the dates, will perform alternately. Indeed, they have agreed to pack their bags for this journey which will take off on April 30 at the Lionel-Groulx Theater in Sainte-Thérèse.

The three women wanted to show their admiration for Renée Martel by embracing this project.

“I see myself as a shy young teenager with orange hair, holding a Renée Martel album to her heart. This woman is my idol and I dream… But since you have to believe in your dreams, one day I meet this magnificent, extremely talented woman and… we become friends. And there, I will interpret his songs with all my soul and all the respect that I owe him, because I owe him a lot, ”said Laurence Jalbert, Tuesday, in a press release.

The show will be presented by next October in Brossard, Gatineau, Granby, L’Assomption, Montreal, Petite-Vallée, Quebec, Saint-Eustache, Saint-Hyacinthe, Sherbrooke, Terrebonne, Trois-Rivières and Victoriaville. Tickets are on sale online.
