Just 3 weeks ago, on a Tuesday evening around 10:50 p.m., PSG blew a great phew of relief. After being sportingly jostled in all directions by RB Leipzig, Paris won 3 goals to 2 after being led 2-1 by a playful and very disciplined German team.
This Wednesday, PSG therefore finds Leipzig for the 4th day of the Champions League (9 p.m.). A match at the Red Bull Arena that Paris-Saint-Germain tackles as leaders of Pool A against the Germans who are last with 0 points. If successful, Paris would largely validate its ticket for the round of 16 of the competition. but Mauricio Pochettino expects a complicated encounter against the eighth in the Bundesliga:
I’m happy with the results but Wednesday will be another tough game. Leipzig are a good team which will not make things easy for us.
Without Messi
PSG landed in Saxony (All) without Lionel Messi. The top Parisian scorer in the Champions League this season (3 goals) still suffers from hamstring discomfort in his left thigh as well as knee pain. The Argentinian therefore remained in Paris to take care of himself and for the moment Pochettino his trainer does not want to comment on a period of unavailability:
We hope that the evolution will be good and that he will join us soon with the group. I can’t say more than that.
Starting 11 possible
In the absence of Lionel Messi, we can imagine that Mauricio Pochettino will replace his star with another Argentinian who comes to him from suspension. Angel Di Maria should find himself in the attack at 3 with Kylian Mbappé and Neymar. Not sure, however, that the PSG coach is embarking on the establishment of a defense with 3 central.
The XI: Donnarumma, Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Hakimi, Mendes, Gueye, Wijnaldum, Herrera, Neymar, Mbappé and Di Maria
In the other group A meeting, Manchester City welcomes Bruges at 9 p.m.
RB Leipzig vs PSG, special broadcast on France Bleu Paris from 8 p.m. with Bruno Salomon live from the Red Bull Arena and the entire Miguel Derennes team in the studio.
