After welcoming migrants for three years, the Ibis hotel in Forbach reopens to the public this Monday

Everything has been redone. After twelve months of work, the company Heintz Immobilier announces the reopening of the Ibis Budget hotel in Forbach, scheduled for Monday, October 24. In total, just over 2 million euros have been invested in the renovation of the building. It had been closed for a year.

Between 2017 and 2020, this hotel had been requisitioned by the State to house migrants. Between 230 and 250 asylum seekers had been accommodated in the building managed by the town hall of Forbach and the Red Cross, with 78 small rooms. After renovation, only 71 leftin a new hotel that employs eight people.
