It is one of the unmissable festivals in Paris. After two years of absence We love green is back from this Thursday June 2 and until Sunday June 5 at the Bois de Vincennes. Three days of concerts, conferences and screenings, with the watchword: ecology. 100,000 festival-goers are waiting.
On the stages of the festival, the program is a dream and it takes on an unprecedented scale this year with many novelties in the program.
The festival has grown with the equivalent of an additional football stadium. The stages have changed places, just like “Lalaland” the giant dance floor, a huge marquee was also built.
The program has also been expanded with an extra day this Thursday. In the evening, the group Gorillaz will be the headliner but conferences are also on the program and a stand-up, with comedian Farry who will have carte blanche and he will come accompanied “of many stars”says Marie Sabot, co-director and founder of We Love Green.
Another novelty, the “Lab leader”, a new gastronomic catering offer in addition to the many “street food” offers. Adrien Cachot, winner of the Top Chef 2020 show, comes with four chefs from diverse backgrounds to imagine the vegetarian cuisine of tomorrow.
All these novelties have been imagined over the last two years. “We had all these projects that were in the drawers, and there, we took them all out. We said to ourselves, ‘there is an emergency, we have to manage to put everything and gather all these energies'”says Marie Sabot, the co-director and founder of We Love Green.
The expanded security system and “circle of prevention”
In a context of more and more complaints for suspicious “bites” in nightclubs, Marie Sabot claims to take the subject very seriously and has doubled the means this year to avoid any danger during her festival. In addition to prevention associations, “our teams of bartenders are trained in a form of vigilance regarding what is happening at their bar”, she assures. The volunteers also received training.
To prevent festival-goers from being drugged without their knowledge, the co-director and founder of We Love Green assures that “cups” will be available throughout the festival to put on the glasses. Finally, the festival will encourage participants to use the Safer application, “which allows us to be reactive, each time we see something, suspicious behavior or someone who is in danger, we can then alert the entire operational chain and react much more quickly”explains Marie Sabot.
