Revelations galore. At the microphone of RTLArthur H, 56-year-old songwriter, came to promote his new album “The life” which comes out this Friday, February 17. But during the interview, the artist also made many revelations about his father. Jacques Higelin, who passed away on April 6, 2018.
A man of whom he keeps excellent memories but whom he forgets little by little as he was able to admit to our colleagues. He is “here” and think very “regularly” to him, of course, but “the people who leave, at the same time, we forget them concretely, but it turns into loving and inspiring presences” according to his words. However, Arthur H qualifies his remarks and explains: “It’s like a spirit that is there and with whom I will connect from time to time. I feel like a force that accompanies me”he confided.

Jacques Higelin victim of sexual abuse
The artist also took advantage of his interview to say more about his piece “The secret”, present in the album. A song in which he reveals and evokes the sexual abuse suffered by Jacques Higelin during his childhood. Abuse of which the artist who died in 2018 never spoke, except to the journalist Valérie Lehoux, who will publish the book “Because silence always kills”March 1, 2023, published by flammarion. A book in which she returns to the difficult past of Jacques Higelin. “He told her this story of abuse by someone quite prestigious and quite charismatic when he was between 10 and 15 years old”explains Arthur H.
It was in the last days of his life, feeling that he would soon be leaving, that Jacques Higelin gave himself up to the journalist with an open heart and revealed his past to her. “He felt he was going to leave, so he asked him to tell his story. […] This is what touched me, this form of soul relief. Even though it’s late, what he meant has been said”. A story that Arthur H also tells in his piece “The secret”included in his album available since this Friday, February 17.
