After the rain comes the heat

After a rainy Canada Day weekend, the heat will return to Quebec for the rest of the week.

Environment Canada is indeed predicting warm temperatures over the next few days. In the metropolitan area, for example, generally cloudy weather and a maximum of 30 °C are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Taking into account the humidex factor, the perceived temperature for these two days will be 34 °C and 37 °C, respectively.

The clouds will disappear from the sky on Friday to make way for sunshine. Again, the federal agency is predicting a maximum of 30 °C.

Rain and thunderstorms will return on Saturday, however, according to MétéoMédia, which estimates the probability of precipitation at 80%. Sunday will see alternating sun and clouds, and the risk of showers is estimated at 40%.

The picture is similar in Quebec and Sherbrooke, in particular, although showers are expected on Thursday.

On the other hand, the west of the province will find itself under rain on Wednesday. In Abitibi-Témiscamingue, 10 to 15 millimetres of rain are expected, while the mercury will indicate 21 °C. The grey and gloomy weather will continue in the region until Sunday, according to Environment Canada.
