after the Pierre Palmade affair, Olivier Véran mercilessly!

Since the dramatic accident of actor Pierre Palmade on February 10, members of the government have also reacted to this appalling news which has moved all of France. Like the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who had asked a few days ago the two men who accompanied the star by car and who fled at the time of the shock, to surrender, this February 14, it was Olivier Véran, government spokesperson, who was questioned about drug use among stars.

Complacency towards the comedian?

If Alba Ventura has found no other word to describe Pierre Palmade than “toxic”many testimonials (and that of Jean-Marie Bigard, last night in TPMP) depicted a man in the grip of his excesses, who never stopped wanting to get out of it, without ever succeeding. And this Tuesday morning, Thomas Sotto asked his guest from 4V if he did not think that there was complacency for the comedian or for the people of the show, on this subject in particular of addictions…

Olivier Véran refuted the idea that there is “a somewhat chic tolerance, as soon as we talk about cocaine in showbiz, in the media, or even in politics” denounced by the journalist. The former Minister of Health argued “the nature of the narcotic that is consumed can depend and depending on the location if you are in metropolitan France or in rural areas on the social profile of the user. I do not believe that there is social, societal and even less political tolerance with regard to such and such a drug, on the pretext that such and such a public consumes it more favorably“.

we want to increase checks by 50%

And to add:Drugs, cocaine, opiates are extremely dangerous drugs with an addictive power, extremely powerful and which lead to human tragedies that we must avoid by all means. The challenge is prevention, repression, on all that is drug trafficking, and more control and we are increasing them. We have increased them by almost 30% in 5 years, and we want to increase them by 50%”.
