It’s almost time to choose. Three days before the second round of the legislative elections, Caroline Roux receives several political leaders in the program “L’Evénement” broadcast from 8:40 p.m. on France 2, Thursday July 4. Jordan Bardella, president of the National Rally, Raphaël Glucksmann, European deputy and leader of Place publique, Gabriel Attal, Prime Minister, David Lisnard, mayor of Les Républicains in Cannes, and Clémence Guetté, deputy of La France insoumise in Val-de-Marne, will answer the journalist’s questions. Follow our live broadcast.
The National Rally came out on top in the first round. Marine Le Pen’s party and its allies won 33.2% of the vote on Sunday. The alliance of left-wing parties of the New Popular Front came second with 28.1% of the vote, while the presidential majority won 21% of the vote. The Republicans party won 10% of the vote.
A second round in 501 out of 577 constituencies. Seventy-six candidates have already been elected in the first round. In the 501 constituencies where a second round is being organized, 224 candidates have withdrawn after calls for a republican front, reducing the number of three-way races to 89 instead of the planned 306. There are also two four-way races remaining.
The RN leads the voting intentions. The far-right party and its allies would win between 210 and 240 seats in the second round of the legislative elections, far from the 289 needed for an absolute majority, according to an Ifop poll for TF1, published Thursday. The New Popular Front would come out on top, with 170 to 200 deputies. The presidential camp could send between 95 and 125 deputies.
