The reactions to 49.3 triggered on the pension reform by Elisabeth Borne before the National Assembly, Thursday March 16, are not kept waiting. After the anger of the Nupes, the majority will have to face the various motions of censure.

In the afternoon of Thursday March 16, it was under the boos of the National Assembly that Elisabeth Borne announced that she was triggering article 49.3. In front of her, the Nupes deputies brandished posters on which was written: “64 years old, it’s no”, and began to sing The Marseillaise before leaving the hemicycle.

Several censure motions announced

After the whistles Thursday, the government will have to face, Monday, March 20, the motions of censure announced by the Nupes, the RN and Liot, a group of 20 independent centrist deputies. “We demand the immediate withdrawal of the pension reform and the resignation of the government”said Bertrand Pancher, president of the centrist parliamentary group. The motions of censure of the RN and Nupes, for partisan reasons, have little chance of succeeding, but that of Liot will be carefully followed by the majority. If it receives an absolute majority, the government will have to resign.
