A controversial speech. This Saturday, May 27, 2023 took place. An event during which director Justine Triet won the famous Palme d’Or for her film Anatomy of a fall in which Sandra Hüller gives the reply to Arthur Harari. Proud to have conquered the Croisette, the 44-year-old filmmaker did not, however, discuss her latest film project, but chose to politicize her speech and discuss pension reform as well as police violence in France. “This year, the country has been crossed by a historic dispute, extremely powerful, unanimous on pension reform. This challenge has been shockingly denied and repressed and this increasingly uninhibited dominating power pattern breaks out in several areas“, she launched. Words which unfortunately were not unanimous.
This Monday, May 29, 2023, Elie Semoun also addressed a slight tackle to the winner. “When I receive my Palme d’or in Cannes for Ducobu 21, I will not talk about the pension reform, I will say thank you”, he quipped on his Instagram account. A way for him to denounce the lack of consideration for comedy? One thing is certain, it is that this publication has probably aroused strong reactions.

Jane Fonda enraged in the middle of the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival
As a reminder, the acolyte of Franck Dubosc is not the only one to have pointed the finger at the speech of Justine Triet. For her part, the American actress Jane Fonda squarely threw the diploma at the back of the director while the latter went to the members of the jury to thank them. A gesture that has caused a lot of ink to flow.
On social networks, many Internet users were outraged.“When a star is not happy, she always does so”, “Super elegant as a gesture…”, “Hate, rage…”, “Apology for violence”, “Not very chic la Fonda”, “Pitiful and forcefully reprehensible “, “Oh mashed potatoes but what a bitch this shrew”, could we read in particular on Twitter. A bad buzz for the American star.
