You won’t have to wait any longer. The Blues are set. Following Ireland’s walk against Scotland (36-14), Saturday October 7, the French XV is guaranteed to meet South Africa in the quarter-finals of the World Cup next Sunday, at the Stade de France.
The Scottish miracle, which could have changed the rest of the French adventure, did not happen. Facing a powerful Irish team, the Chardon XV did not exist for more than an hour of play, remaining stuck at zero points. With six tries and no cold sweat, Ireland lived up to its reputation, while waiting to find New Zealand for a place in the last four.
