At 35, single and ready to have a child, Johanna decided to become a single mother. And his idea of family, that’s it.
At 35, Johanna Luyssen made a decision that changed her life: single, she decided to become a mother and gave birth to a little girl: Farah. “When I was ready, there was no man in my life and I said to myself: “But in this case, what do I do? Do I really have to waiting for someone to choose me ?” she explains.
Supported by her friends, Johanna wanted to change the codes of her idea of what a family is. “As they say, it takes a village to raise a child. Me, I have my friends and it’s a network around my daughter and I that makes us a big family“, she rejoices. According to her, this assumed choice is a matter of legitimacy: “Society, it decided that there were people who were legitimate to have children, to have a family, and people who were not legitimate“For her, her role model is one possibility among many.”We are not a family neither worse nor better than other families, we are a family“, she concludes.
