After completing the Everest of the Seas, skipper Maxime Sorel tackles the ascent of Everest

Maxime Sorel likes to challenge himself. And he proves it once again. After completing his first solo sailing trip around the world in 2021, the skipper from Cancale announced that he was going to attempt the ascent of Everest in Nepal. Its summit culminates at 8849 meters above sea level and is considered the highest point on the planet.

While the construction of his future boat VandB – Monbana – Mayenne continues in the port of Concarneau, the skipper does not have time to be bored. Maxime Sorel will take part in the Route du Rhum next November. Then they can devote themselves to preparing for this challenge. Last January, the 36-year-old Breton climbed Kilimanjaro, the highest point on the African continent in Tanzania.

His adventure in the Himalayas is scheduled for April-May 2023.
