The comedy
Bernadette
was released in theaters on Wednesday October 4, 2023. Since then, tongues have continued to loosen on the subject of the ex-first lady. As proof, André Demullet, the driver of Bernadette and Jacques Chirac for more than 20 years, confided in our colleagues at Gala on the day of the film’s release to give his opinion on this biopic directed by Catherine Deneuve.
“I’m rather embarrassed by this film, which I won’t go see”, did he declare. Before explaining that he understood why Claude Chirac, the daughter of Jacques and Bernadette Chirac, had deplored the fact of not having been informed of the project:“I don’t like people who talk about things they don’t know. Claude Chirac’s anger is completely legitimate. It’s bad for not having been warned. And then, Madame Chirac is still alive, we Looks like people have forgotten it!”

The secrets of the former chef of the Élysée
Guest on set PAF (C8) this Friday October 6, 2023, the former chef of the Élysée Eric Duquenne in turn made some revelations about the couple.
“When Chirac suffered a stroke, we had somewhat strict instructions… Afterwards we had difficulty keeping him. He called us for cold meats. Madame (Chirac) had given instructions so it was no more cold meats, no more alcohol so it was fish and vegetables etc. So he started to break down. He said ‘I found a solution. Since Bernadette drinks tonic, I’m going to have gin and tonic… He said ‘you put a little gin in my glass, fill it with tonicity and above all don’t use the wrong glass'”, he confided to Pascale de La Tour du Pin.
An anecdote that made the entire set of the daily show explode with laughter!
