After a chicken, a deer: animals are also starting to take transport in Toronto

While more and more dogs are accompanying their owners on public transportation, other animals did not want to be left behind, such as a deer and a chicken who decided to test transportation in Toronto.

A chicken was first seen wandering aboard a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway this week, according to a video shared on TikTok.

“We’ve seen some interesting animals roaming on the TTC before… crabs, beavers, snakes, pigeons, but this may be a first,” said Stuart Green, senior wildlife specialist. TTC communication to the “Toronto Star”.

“By roaming free, this creature is clearly violating our regulations,” he added.

In fact, as in Montreal transportation, only dogs on a leash or pets locked in a special container are authorized on weekends and at certain times during the week on Toronto buses and subways.

Toronto’s regional transportation authority – Metrolinx – had to face another mishap on Thursday afternoon, when a deer was found under a train at Union Station, as shown in photos shared on X .

If employees tried to get it out, the deer ultimately left on its own without injury, causing only a few small delays in train departures, according to the Toronto media.
