After 12 seasons at CBS | Murder, She Wrote at the cinema

The popular American television series Murder, She Wrotewhich ran for 12 seasons on CBS, will move to the big screen.


Universal Pictures has announced that it is working on a film adaptation of the crime series which starred Angela Lansbury, in the role of writer and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher. The action took place in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine. The series aired from 1984 to 1996.

In Quebec, the series was first presented at TQS, then at Prize 2 under the title She writes about murder.

The duo behind the film Dumb Money, Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, will work on the screenplay. We still don’t know the identity of the director. It also remains to be seen who will take on the lead role, Angela Lansbury having died last October.

The release date is also far from being known, as the project is currently on ice due to the screenwriters’ strike in Hollywood.
