Five players had initially tested positive and removed from the meeting against Montpellier on December 22, which ended in a defeat (4-1). These players had been placed in solitary confinement until December 31, but are not allowed to resume group training only a week after this date. “During the holidays, a large number of players and staff informed us of their positive tests for Covid-19. It seems obvious that the contagiousness of the variant is at the origin of this unprecedented spread in Angers SCO, which, until then, had only been slightly affected by this pandemic.“, adds the club which evokes a”explosion“case.
According to the latest medical protocol of the LFP, a team is allowed to play as long as it has at least 20 players, including a goalkeeper.
