The mayor of Quebec, Bruno Marchand, has just announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and that he will not participate in activities as part of the papal visit to the capital.

“The Acting Mayor, Ms.me Catherine Vallières-Roland, will take over. Contacts having been limited for a few days already, no other elected official or no other person in the cabinet has to place themselves in isolation following this positive result, ”we can read in a press release released in the early afternoon.
