(Los Angeles) Aerosmith will celebrate the rock band’s 50th anniversary with an ultimate tour, which will include a stop in Montreal.

The formation announced Monday the 40 dates for their last tour, titled peace outwhich will launch on September 2 in Philadelphia.

The group will notably be visiting Boston, its hometown, for New Year’s Eve, and Montreal on January 26.

“I think it was about time,” said guitarist Joe Perry.

Perry said the band, along with vocalist Steven Tyler, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer and guitarist Brad Whitford, learned from directing and producing at their recent Las Vegas residency shows.

Perry thinks it’s time to say goodbye, as all of the band’s founding members are over 70 years old. The singer, Steven Tyler, is the oldest at 75.

“It’s a chance, in a way, to celebrate [nos] 50 years, he said. You never know how long everyone is going to be healthy doing this. »

Tyler and Perry said the band are looking forward to digging into their extensive catalog of classics, including crazy, Janie’s Got a Gun And Living on the Edge.

Aerosmith presented the Super Bowl halftime show in 2001 and even had its own park attraction in 1999 at Disney World in Florida and later in Paris with the launch of the ride Rock’n’Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.

“We are opening Pandora’s box one last time to introduce our fans to the tour peace out said Steven Tyler in a statement to The Associated Press, referring to the band’s compilation album, Pandora’s Boxlaunched in 1991.

“Be there or watch out because we’re getting all the toys out of the attic. Get ready,” he warned.

The band announced that Joey Kramer had decided not to participate in the current dates of the next tour. He’s still a part of the band, but the drummer has been on leave to “focus his attention on his family and his health” since the Las Vegas residency last year. Drummer John Douglas will continue to play in his place.
