It’s D-Day this Wednesday, May 11, the one that Ikea lovers have been waiting for 20 years on the Côte-d’Azur: the opening of the Nice Saint-Isidore store. From 8 a.m. for officials, 10 a.m. for the public and closing at 8 p.m. Except that this event falls at the same time as the concert of the singer Angèle at the Palais Nikaïa and the match of the Aiglons against Saint-Etienne at the Allianz Riviera from 7 p.m. The metropolis of Nice and the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes therefore provide an adapted traffic and transport plan: we summarize it for you.
Recommended itineraries
The easiest way is to avoid the area: it will clog. But if you go to the stadium, to Ikea, to the Angèle concert or if you live in the neighborhood, there are still roads to be preferred. If you come from the A8 motorway : take exit 51 Nice Saint-Augustin, then avenue Simone Veil and then avenue Pierre de Coubertin. Basically, absolutely avoid the Provençale.
If you come from Nice: you have to take the road to Grenoble, then the boulevard du Mercantour, you bypass the stadium by the west and you take your troubles patiently. There is no point trying the perpendicular streets: they will be closed to traffic. Then to park: the Alpes-Maritimes Prefecture recommends the MIN car park and the Charles Ehrmann relay car park. For security reasons, the Parcazur “Saint-Isidore” is closed all day.
Public transport
Otherwise, it is strongly recommended to take the bus or the tram. For supporters there are the traditional blue, red and yellow shuttles. The City promises more tram rotations: every 10 to 11 minutes from 5 p.m. to 6:14 p.m. on line 3. Departing from the municipalities: as for each home match, there are “football” lines: departing from Saint-Jeannet Le Peyron, Plan-du-Var, Aspremont, Carros, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Levens and Vence.
