Advertising is coming to Netflix

Netflix will offer a “Basic with Ads” plan for $5.99 per month. This package will be offered from 1er November in Canada. Eleven more countries will join the group over the next few days, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States (where the monthly subscription with ads will cost $6.99) and Australia.

This plan is added to the three existing plans of the popular video-on-demand service: “Basic” ($9.99 per month), “Standard” ($16.49 per month) and “Premium” ($20.99 per month). month).

According to the information disclosed by the company, for each hour of content, an average of 4 to 5 minutes of commercials will be broadcast. These ads, lasting 15 or 30 seconds, will be shown before and during films and series. Netflix offered a preview of the result during its press briefing: an episode ofEmily in Paris preceded by a lipstick ad.

As for the advertisements that will be served during the episodes, they will appear “at the opportune moments”, mentioned the leaders of the company. In other words, an ad shouldn’t emerge in the middle of a hyper-dramatic scene.
