A New Mystery Unfolds at the Mistral
Aya and Kilian are busy sprucing up the bar-restaurant Le Mistral when Kilian excitedly reveals that he has received five advent calendars filled with intriguing notes. One message particularly piques his interest: ‘The return of the cuckoo may cause the nest to fall.’ This leads Kilian to speculate whether it has anything to do with Baptiste’s comeback.
Meanwhile, at the Massalia residence, Yolande discovers she has the same advent calendar. Jules and Morgane are eager to uncover the secrets hidden within. When the first note is revealed, it prompts a passionate kiss between the young police officer and his girlfriend, as it reads: ‘The kiss of a loved one is the key to happiness.’
Curious, Jules opens the second door only to find: ‘Comforting an anonymous person nourishes the soul, while ignoring them destroys it.’ Yolande advises Jules to stay true to his calling, but he opts to ignore it. Shortly after, he discovers that the lock on his bike has been vandalized.
In an attempt to redeem himself, Jules decides to offer a hug to a stranger. To his surprise, the man expresses gratitude, revealing he just received bad news about his canceled trip to Reunion Island due to financial issues. Jules is left pondering: could this calendar actually predict the future?
The Family Reunion: Baptiste, Emma, and Mathis Return
With Christmas just around the corner, Thomas (Laurent Kérusoré) and Gabriel are busy decorating their home in anticipation of Mathis’s arrival. Just then, a knock at the door reveals Emma, Baptiste, and the little one, all beaming with joy.
Thomas and Gabriel seize the moment to brush up on their English with this family visiting from Australia. Emma shares with her stepfathers that Baptiste hasn’t improved his English skills, which surprises the couple.
Later, Baptiste joins his father at Le Mistral, where he is warmly welcomed by Kilian. Kilian asks if he’s feeling the effects of the time zone change, to which Baptiste replies that he’s perfectly fine.
Curious about Australia, Kilian bombards Baptiste with questions about tourist attractions, only to learn that he hasn’t explored much of the country. Thomas expresses his surprise, encouraging his son to make the most of his time there.
As the conversation continues, Baptiste’s eyes land on a family photo featuring Roland Marci at its center. He reflects on cherished memories with his grandfather, prompting Thomas to remark: ‘He would have been so happy to see us all together.’
Vanessa’s Schemes and Anthony’s Interference
In a secluded seaside spot in Marseille, Vanessa (Agathe de la Boulaye) confronts Anthony (Mickaël Bourse). She attempts to strike a deal, offering him a bag of cash in exchange for a letter that was taken from the safe. Anthony declines her offer, taking only a few bills before walking away from the Mistralienne.
Shortly after, Vanessa meets with Apolline (Zoé Laïb) over coffee, requesting her assistance in a personal matter: ‘I need you to track down a woman who worked in Marseille Est in the 2000s. Her name is Myriam Toussaint, a pediatric nurse from the maternity ward.’
Vanessa emphasizes the urgency, instructing Apolline to locate Myriam before Anthony does. As Apolline contemplates the task, she realizes it will require utmost discretion to avoid raising suspicion with Ulysse or Ophélie.
Later, Apolline visits the medical office at the Mistral to gather intel from Babeth. Babeth shares fond memories of Myriam, noting that she resigned in 2004 to move to the countryside following an inheritance.
Meanwhile, Ulysse (Jeremy Charvet) is called into the police station by Boher, who interrogates him about the safe incident. Boher is baffled that nothing was taken, stating: ‘If it was Anthony Charon last Friday, you need to come clean.’ Despite the pressure, Ulysse opts to keep silent.
While on her quest, Apolline encounters Anthony near Myriam Toussaint’s residence. With a smug demeanor, he reveals: ‘She’s dead; she had a heart attack last summer.’
Anthony continues, explaining that Myriam’s husband provided him with crucial documents. He warns Apolline: ‘Tell your boss I have substantial evidence against her, including a signed statement from Myriam acknowledging she received 200,000 bucks from her.’ He then demands three times the initial amount.
