On August 17, 2018, Adriana Karembeu’s life took on another meaning. She and her husband Aram Ohanian welcomed their first child that day. A little girl who responds to the sweet name of Nina and who fills them with joy. A happiness all the more immense when we know the fight that the beautiful blonde of 50 years led to realize her dream of becoming a mother.
Getting pregnant after 40 is not easy and Adriana Karembeu knew it. But the co-presenter of Extraordinary powers of the human body (France 2) wanted with all his soul to give life. So, with the man she married in 2014, they tried to have a baby. A journey strewn with pitfalls. “I knew that getting pregnant after 40 would be complicated. I was just praying for it to happen“, she first confided to our colleagues from Current wife. And it happened, several times even. Unfortunately, this ended in failures: “I didn’t just have one miscarriage, I had several. There are women who get pregnant easily, others who decide to have a child later and for whom it is not so easy. (…) The path was horribly complicated, psychologically and physically.“
But Adriana Karembeu never stopped believing in it. And one day she got pregnant with Nina, a pregnancy “miracle“which she carried out.”Those who have experienced the same thing as me and managed to conceive, so much the better. I know how important it is. Those who try but fail, I have compassion. I would say don’t let go and go all the way and if it doesn’t work, you have to accept it and make peace“, she advised.
Since then, Adriana Karembeu has savored every moment spent with her little Nina who will soon be celebrating her 4th birthday. The sidekick of Michel Cymes knows it, she will not be able to have a second child. “I would have loved it! But you have to understand nature, which is well made. One cannot have a child when one wants, nor when one is very old. I could not accompany him in his life and that is a problem. I thought of all possible and imaginable means. I was even thinking of stealing from a child in the street (laughs). Today I have a child, I am so happy. I can’t tell you what state I’d be in if I didn’t have it“, she concluded.
