ADISQ is launching a campaign to make the public aware of the purchase of show tickets that are often too expensive on resale sites.

Several big names in the music and comedy industries join their voices with ADISQ to raise public awareness of the purchase of show tickets on resale sites, while this phenomenon is gaining in popularity and many are taken there.

Since the resumption of shows in the winter, ADISQ says in particular that it has found that spectators who buy their tickets on these sites tend to pay far too much. The association also observes that these sites often do not provide the right information. Result: many were unaware that the show they were to attend was canceled or postponed.

It is therefore to call on the public to be vigilant that ADISQ launched a vast prevention campaign on social networks on Monday. Lise Dion, Louis-Jean Cormier, Marie-Denise Pelletier and even Corneille are among the artists who participated in one of the web capsules distributed by ADISQ and entitled: “Where to get your show tickets? »

“What was my surprise lately to learn that there were tickets online for my show at 300 piasses headquarters. […] That, tickets at 300 piasses for my show, it’s not reality. It even goes beyond fiction, and even tales and legends, “said Fred Pellerin, among others, in a video posted Monday on YouTube.

In its campaign, ADISQ points out that the sites of artists and those of performance halls are the most reliable platforms for purchasing tickets. As much as possible, it is preferable to transact on these sites, it is emphasized.

“Ticket resale sites may look like official sites. So, you have to be vigilant and make sure that you are on the site of the artist you want to see or on the site of the room where the show that interests you is presented, “said Ève Paré, the Director General of ADISQ, by press release.
