ADISQ Gala | Daniel Bélanger could add Félix to his harvest

(Montreal) Singer Daniel Bélanger leaves with a head start for the 45e ADISQ gala on Sunday evening, a few days after receiving three awards during the first ceremonies.

Bélanger, who launched his album last year Mercury in Maywon Critics’ Choice, Pop Album of the Year, and Achievement Album of the Year.

He is up for several other awards Sunday night, including songwriter of the year and male artist of the year.

The composer Alexandra Stréliski, who had also received several nominations, has already obtained the Félix for album of the year, instrumental music, for Neo-Romance. She could win several other awards on Sunday, including female artist of the year.

ADISQ has also already rewarded the latest album by singer-songwriter Philippe Brach, The people we love, in three categories: alternative album of the year, arrangements of the year and album cover of the year. The singer could walk away with the prize for author or composer of the year.

Legendary Quebec artists Ginette Reno, Richard Séguin and Michel Rivard also added a statuette to their collection and could further enrich it on Sunday evening.

The groups Les Cowboys Fringants, Les Trois Accords and Salebarbes are also worth watching.

For the 18e year, comedian Louis-José Houde will be master of ceremonies and he announced earlier this week that this will be his last gala in order to “hand the torch” to others.

“Relatives ask me why I don’t surrender at 20. Because 20 years would be stretching the sauce; 18 is a quick passage,” he joked.
