As you age at home, it is sometimes necessary to adapt your home. If several aids exist, a new aid called “MaPrimeAdapt'” will be effective from January 1, 2024. It will finance 50% to 70% of the work for people losing their autonomy.
With age, the simplest actions sometimes become difficult. By aging at home, a 74-year-old retiree takes risks. An occupational therapist visits her to make sure her housing is safe. Without adaptation, he risks falling. This is the case for 2 million people aged over 65 each year, representing more than 130,000 hospitalizations and 10,000 deaths. Well-designed accommodation is therefore essential. For this, there are several aids. The retiree has the right to 300 euros.
Often expensive work
This aid is all the more valuable as the work is often expensive. Without funding, Lyliane Lacroix, a retiree, would never have been able to remodel her bathroom. Here she had already fallen twice. Decisive assistance enabled him to carry out nearly 6,000 euros of work. “Out of my pocket, I had to pay 888 euros,” she specifies. From January 1, 2024, this system will be strengthened, with new aid called “MaPrimeAdapt’“. It will finance 50% of 70% work for people losing their autonomy.
