In France, anti-Semitic acts increased by 300% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year.

Gabriel Attal was at the annual dinner of the CRIF (Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France), Monday May 6 in the evening. He shared the observation of the increase in anti-Semitic acts in recent months. “We are facing a wave of anti-Semitism, a wave of rare magnitude, stronger, more violent”, indicated the Prime Minister. During the first three months of 2024, 366 anti-Semitic acts were recorded in France, or four anti-Semitic acts per day. This figure is up 300% compared to the same period in 2023.

60% of anti-religious acts in France are anti-Semitic

“It is the anti-Semitic speech which is being released, which is being unbridled, it is violence, it is intimidation, it is letters of insults, insults, threats”, explains Gabriel Attal. This increase began following October 7, with 1,200 acts recorded between the Hamas attack in Israel and the end of 2023. In France, 60% of anti-religious acts are anti-Semitic.
