In the final cut of the film Anna, by Luc Besson, all that remains of Sand Van Roy is the molding of his severed and bloody head. The actress Belgian-Dutch had yet to play an important role in this feature film, shot from November 2017 and released in 2019: an American spy, arrested by the Russian authorities after a chase in the Moscow metro, as shown in images that “Further investigation” was able to consult. She is eventually replaced by another actress. However, between the shooting and the release of the film, Sand Van Roy filed a complaint against Luc Besson for rape. This complaint is still in training and the prosecution requested a dismissal in October 2021.
He is a journalist who teaches Sand Van Roy, October 19, 2018, that she was replaced in the movie. “That he cuts me during the editing, it’s predictable. When I file a complaint against him, you shouldn’t expect him not to do it “, says the actress. For her, it is a deliberate strategy of Luc Besson: to make believe in a complaint by revenge not to have had in the film the place which it wanted. “The crazy thing is that he not only cut my footage, but he cut the time of the role on the screen to make it look like the role was less important than it actually was. (…) He tries to make the audience believe that I only had mini roles and that I did this for revenge. ”
In addition to having disappeared from this feature film, the actress says she has been completely erased from the big screen. She says she has had only one casting in three years, while she did “not bad” before. Sand Van Roy is “blacklisted”, according to a producer, who had to abandon a film project in which she was to shoot, due to the withdrawal of investors. He affirms that “people didn’t want to hire her anymore”, “like she was guilty of something”. A complaint that shattered his film career? “A complaint that completely shattered my life”, confides the actress.
