Actress Judith Godrèche was heard by the Senate women’s rights delegation on Thursday February 29. In particular, she requested the creation of a “commission of inquiry against sexual and gender-based violence in the cinema industry”.
After years of silence, actress Judith Godrèche spoke for almost two hours before the Senate women’s rights delegation on Thursday February 29. After her complaints against filmmakers Jacques Doillon and Benoît Jacquot, the actress says she has collected 4,500 testimonies from victims of sexual violence. “So I ask you to help me”she declared, calling for the constitution of a “commission of inquiry against sexual and gender-based violence in the cinema industry”.
Tribute to Judge Édouard Durand
Judith Godrèche has several times paid tribute to judge Édouard Durand, the former president of Ciivise, the independent commission on incest and sexual violence against children. “Would it be possible for the senators, the laws, the government, to give our society the possibility, the chance, for Édouard Durand to fulfill his heroic destiny during his lifetime?”, she asked. Faced with accusations of sexual assault targeting the president of the National Center for Cinematography, Judith Godrèche deplored the lack of reaction, and in particular that of Emmanuel Macron.
