The world of cinema is in mourning after the announcement of the death of actress Glynis Johns at the age of 100. Known for her role in the film “Mary Poppins” released in 1964, the actress was one of the last survivors of the era called “the Golden Age of Hollywood” and appeared in more than twenty films during her career.
“Glynis navigated her way through life with intelligence, wit and a love of performance, affecting millions of lives. She came into my life early in my career and set the bar on how to navigate this industry with grace, class and truth. Your own truth. Her light shone very brightly for 100 years. She had a mind that could stop you in your tracks, fueled by a heart that loved deeply and purely. Today is a “A dark day for Hollywood. Not only do we mourn the passing of our beloved Glynis, but we mourn the end of the Golden Age of Hollywood.” said his manager Mitch Clem.
Multiple Oscar nominee and Tony Award winner for her role in the original Broadway production of “A Little Night Music,” the actress was known for her deliciously husky, breathy voice, her dynamic character and, when she was young, her legendary charm.
