Actor Philippe Caubère indicted for sexual assault and rape of two minors and corruption for a third

The Créteil public prosecutor’s office confirmed to franceinfo on Thursday the indictment of Philippe Caubère for sexual assault, rape and corruption of a minor.

Actor Philippe Caubère was indicted on Thursday February 8 for sexual assault and rape of two minors and corruption of a minor on a third victim, franceinfo learned from the Créteil public prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Le Parisien.

In detail, the actor was indicted for sexual assault and rape of a minor over 15 years old by a person with authority for facts dating from 2012 on a first victim.

He was also indicted for sexual assault and rape of a minor over 15 years old by a person in authority and for sexual assault and rape of an adult by a person in authority over a second victim for acts dating from 2010 to 2019. He was finally indicted for corruption of a minor over 15 years old on a third victim for acts ranging from 2019 to 2021.

Philippe Caubère, who was placed in police custody on Tuesday, was placed under judicial supervision with, in particular, a ban on carrying out an activity involving habitual contact with minors and a ban on entering into contact with the victims.

Concerning the first victim, franceinfo revealed in January the existence of his complaint for “sexual assault on a minor over 15 years old by a person in authority”. The complainant, Camille (not her real name), is now 27 years old. She denounces sexual abuse when she was 16 years old in 2012, and Philippe Caubère 61 years old. The plaintiff was a high school student, did theater, dreamed of making it her career. The actor, 45 years her senior, whom she considered as a possible mentor, arranged meetings with her to talk about theater and cinema.

But quickly, according to the young woman, there was a rapprochement which she was unable to oppose. In her studio in Saint-Mandé (Val-de-Marne), she accuses him of having abused her emotional immaturity during several meetings that she was asked to keep clandestine and not to report to her parents .
