Environmental activists and local residents’ associations are mobilized on Wednesday March 13 in several French regions against air traffic nuisances. They are calling for it to be capped at a time when it is surpassing its pre-Covid crisis levels. Denouncing “the growing impact of aviation on the climate, responsible for more than 15% of France’s climate impact” and being alarmed by a growth in traffic which affects “directly and seriously affects the health of the populations flown over”Coalition “Stay on earth” and the French Union Against Aircraft Nuisance (UFCNA) met in around twenty locations, particularly near airport platforms. It is “show that the growth in air traffic is unsustainable, that it is neither good for health nor for the climate”.
Against the nuisance of air traffic at Paris-Orly, two associations, for example, organized a rally in the morning in Athis-Mons (Essonne) a few meters from the airport. “Health, climate, let’s cap air traffic”asked for a banner on site, visible in a photograph showing around ten elected officials and published on X by one of the associations.
