The ex-spouse of a man accused of voyeurism for having filmed her without his knowledge during their sexual intercourse claims to have found videos of several other women who could also be victims of his scheme.
The plaintiff could never have thought that her privacy would be violated to such an extent by the man she loved. After a four-year relationship, the 45-year-old woman decided to leave Luc Paradis, suspecting him in particular of infidelity.
But it was while rummaging through the 50-year-old man’s hard drives that she realized the full extent of the deception. She claims to have discovered about twenty videos of her ex having sex with other women, unknown.
“The videos have been numbered up to 18. Me, I am number 17”, she illustrates. The majority of the videos are shot the same way, says the complainant. “He opens his cell phone. He places it on a table in front of the bed and goes to bed”, explains the one who prefers not to be identified while wishing to alert potential victims.
Complaint for voyeurism
The ex-spouse of Luc Paradis filed a complaint with the Sûreté du Québec, which ultimately led to a charge of voyeurism. The accused must therefore appear at the courthouse in mid-December.
The sole plaintiff would have liked charges to be brought in connection with all the videos found on Paradis’ hard drives. “The police can’t take the other videos into consideration because they can’t tell if the other women were consenting,” she explains.
By shedding light on Luc Paradis’ case, she therefore hopes that other alleged victims, who believe they were filmed by the accused during sexual relations, come forward to the police.
Blackmail
Especially since Luc Paradis tried to monetize the withdrawal of the voyeurism complaint. A Superior Court judge even condemned him to pay a sum of $122,000 for his “fraudulent actions”.
It is that the couple owned a bistro-bar in Saint-Sauveur. While his ex-spouse worked without pay and without counting the hours, Luc Paradis had “absolute control” over the finances of the company, indicates the judge.
In December 2020, the bar closed for good, but Paradis, who “decided unilaterally on the sums” committed by the bistro, used the $40,000 from the Canadian Business Emergency Loan Program (CEUN) for the purchase. of a new house.
While citing the videos and the accused’s attempted blackmail, the Superior Court demanded payment of $122,000. The man “acted fraudulently by withdrawing tens of thousands of dollars for his sole benefit” from the bar and the sale of the house, ruled the judge.
“It was manipulation from A to Z,” laments his ex-spouse who also hopes to see the color of his money.
