Suspended for a few days, fullback Christophe Normand, accused of child luring last week, was officially released by the Montreal Alouettes on Wednesday.
Posted at 6:36 p.m.
Normand, involved in the education community since 2015, was charged at the Granby courthouse with approaching a child under the age of 16 for sexual purposes. The facts would have taken place on August 9.
Normand occupied an important position in the squad, but the Alouettes could not do otherwise. The whole team was in shock following this news involving the 30-year-old player.
Normand was released on conditions after his visit to the courthouse.
