He had been placed under judicial supervision since the events. A 44-year-old father was summoned before the Clermont-Ferrand criminal court (Puy-de-Dôme) on Thursday October 26. On September 7, a student was escorted out of her establishment several times because of her abaya, which she refused to remove. His father called the school and made death threats, according to the head of the establishment. The Minister of Education, Gabriel Attal, then traveling to Lyon (Rhône), immediately reacted and expressed his support for the principal.
Suspect faces up to three years in prison
The trial comes two weeks after the assassination of Dominique Bernard in his high school in Arras (Pas-de-Calais) and the relaunch of the debate around the security of educational establishments. “It is obvious that one cannot decently threaten staff with death.
