According to Élections Québec, the Parti Québécois is the party that obtained the most donations during the campaign

Since the start of the election campaign, the Parti Québécois (PQ) has been the party that has benefited the most from the financial generosity of its militants, according to data provided by Élections Québec.

The sovereigntist formation dominates the five main parties both in terms of the number of donors and the sums collected during the campaign. On average, however, its donors made smaller donations than those of the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) and those of the Liberal Party.

From August 28 to September 21, the Parti Québécois (PQ) raised $354,175 from 3,852 donors, according to data provided by Élections Québec. That’s almost twice as many donors as Québec solidaire, which ranks second. Solidarity and PQ donors donated an average of $92 per person.

In the last few days, the leader of the PQ, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, had said on several occasions that his party was enjoying momentum. In addition to the polls which seem to confirm a modest rise following the two main televised debates, he had mentioned greater interest from activists and citizens who donate to his party.

For its part, Québec solidaire ranks second both for the number of donors and for the total amount raised. The formation of Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois obtained $180,305 from 1960 donors.

The Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) came third with $170,548 during the campaign of 1,324 citizens. These made the highest donations on average, compared to the other parties, at $129.

With 924 donors, the Conservative Party surpasses the Liberals. His supporters made more modest contributions, on average. The Conservatives raised $66,732, again between August 28 and September 21. This represents an average donation of $72.22.

The Liberals can, however, count on higher average donations. Dominique Anglade’s party won $105,683 from 919 people, for an average of $115.
