(Kyiv, Ukraine) A senior US intelligence official says Russian missiles entered NATO member Poland, killing two people.
Polish government spokesman Piotr Mueller did not immediately confirm the information, but said senior leaders were holding an emergency meeting due to a “crisis situation”.
Polish media reported that two people died on Tuesday afternoon after a projectile hit an area where grain was drying in Przewodów, a Polish village near the border with Ukraine.
The US Department of Defense is “reviewing” press reports that two Russian missiles “hit a location in Poland or on the border with Ukraine,” a spokesman said on Tuesday.
“We have no information at this stage to confirm this information and we are examining it further”, explained this Pentagon spokesperson.
