The Prime Minister, Jean Castex, adopted, Thursday, November 25, new measures “in order to strengthen the protection of victims and the fight against violence” on the occasion of the Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. “The effort to open new places will be continued, and 1,000 new accommodation places will be opened in 2022, with funding equivalent to that planned for 2021 in order to allow quality support”, said Matignon, who recalls that“in all, 9,000 places will be dedicated to welcoming women victims of violence at the end of 2022”.

In addition, 5,000 “serious danger telephones” will be made available in 2022, “which have been proven and which are effective in protecting the victims of their attacker”, according to Matignon.

The Prime Minister also announced the launch of a “week of equality between girls and boys (…) from next year at school the week of March 8”. “One week will allow teachers and students to mobilize around strong projects on equality between girls and boys, and to understand the different facets”, continues Matignon, specifying that the Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, will detail “the terms and the content”.
