Accident in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce | The young driver succumbed to his injuries.

The 21-year-old driver who crashed into a tree and a bus shelter at the wheel of an Infiniti sedan last Friday on Côte-Saint-Luc Road in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

The violent accident had created a commotion in this busy area located in particular next to a high school and a creamery, last Friday.

The 21-year-old driver had lost control of the vehicle before hitting a tree and then a bus shelter, in a small park at the corner of Chemin de la Côte-Saint-Luc and Grand-Boulevard on Friday afternoon.

No passers-by had been hit. However, the driver suffered serious injuries. Jaws had to be used to extricate him from his damaged vehicle.

Three other 20-year-old passengers were in the car at the time of the collision. The same evening, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) had indicated that their condition was considered stable and that their life was out of danger. On Tuesday, SPVM publicist Sabrina Gauthier said that two of them are in critical condition.

The investigation into this case is continuing.
