(Granby) Highway 10 westbound is completely closed to traffic near Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby due to an accident involving a concrete mixer, a semi-trailer truck and a car.
Posted at 1:50 p.m.
The accident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Highway 10 at kilometer 65, between the Ange-Gardien exit and the Granby exit. Three people were injured and taken to a hospital, but their lives would not be in danger, said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Louis-Philippe Ruel.
According to information from the SQ, a cement mixer hit a truck, which hit the back of a car. “The two heavy vehicles were no longer able to circulate, so it completely blocked Highway 10 at that location,” said Mr. Ruel.
There was also an oil spill on the road.
One lane should be reopened around 2 p.m. and the full reopening of Highway 10 should be done later in the day. For the moment, a detour has been erected towards exit 74.
The SQ was not able to specify for the moment what could have caused the accident.
