AC Ajaccio-Auxerre and Niort-Dunkerque shock postponed due to Covid-19

To see more clearly in the heights of the Ligue 2 standings, we will have to wait. Initially scheduled for Saturday January 15, the Ligue 2 poster between AC Ajaccio, leader, and Auxerre (3rd), has been postponed because of cases of Covid-19 on the Burgundy side. The announcement was made official on Wednesday January 12 by the Professional Football League (LFP), which also rejected Niort-Dunkerque for the same reasons.

The match between the Ajacciens, at the top of the standings, and the Auxerrois, third at two lengths, should have been the high point of the 21st day of L2 this weekend but a series of positive cases within the AJA forced the LFP to reschedule this shock to Friday January 28 at 7 p.m.

Likewise, the Niort-Dunkirk match, which was also scheduled for Saturday, was postponed to Tuesday February 1 (7 p.m.), due to cases of Covid-19 in the Dunkirk workforce. For these two teams as for AC Ajaccio, this is the second match postponed due to Covid-19.

Caen-Niort and Dunkerque-Paris FC, counting for the 20th day and initially scheduled for Saturday January 8, have thus been rescheduled for Friday January 28 at 7 p.m.

Two other matches of the 20th day of L2 have also been moved, on Wednesday January 19 (7 p.m.): Amiens-AC Ajaccio, still due to cases of Covid, and Toulouse-Nancy, this time because of bad weather which have hit the Haute-Garonne in recent days.
