The 20 Hours team did the test with a doctor chosen at random. In just two minutes, the practitioner issues a two-day sick leave.
A thousand doctors monitored by Health Insurance
Is this a common practice, or an exception? There are no figures for voluntary sick leave. However, the number of stops is exploding in France: 8.8 million stops have been prescribed in 2022, a jump of 30% in ten years. All at a cost of more than 16 billion euros in 2023. Health Insurance has therefore placed a thousand doctors under surveillance who, according to it, prescribe too much.
